Where contemporary
theoretical discourse privileges the terms tight-knit and loose organization,
the writings of the Viennese School exhibit a plethora of expressions when
discussing these concepts. The implications of this terminological richness for
our understanding of shaping [Formgebung]
are explored through textual exegesis and a series of analytical vignettes,
both tonal and post-tonal.
